Looking to increase student engagement with readings? Hypothesis, a social annotation tool integrated into Canvas, allows students to collaboratively highlight, comment on, and discuss course texts in real time. This workshop introduces faculty to Hypothesis and explores how it can support deeper reading, critical thinking, and meaningful discussion—right within your course materials.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand what social annotation is and how it supports active learning
- Set up Hypothesis-enabled readings in Canvas using PDFs and webpages
- Facilitate student interaction through in-text comments and discussions
- Use Hypothesis to guide reading comprehension and connect course concepts
